Senior Executive Development
The leadership development team at a federal agency approached me to redesign their Senior Executive Development course around behavioral competencies. I was thrilled to partner on this meaningful initiative.
Recognizing that even seasoned leaders benefit from fresh perspectives on timeless skills, we aimed to move beyond theory and create an experience that actively challenged assumptions and sparked practical insights for real-world application.
Following the ADDIE model, I began by analyzing the agency’s leadership competency framework and conducted interviews with current executives to identify gaps between expected and demonstrated behaviors. I then designed reflective exercises and case-based discussions, developed facilitator guides and participant workbooks in Microsoft Office, produced supporting materials, and coordinated rigorous stakeholder reviews before pilot testing with a cohort of senior leaders.
The course was crafted to provoke thoughtful dialogue using scenarios that invited leaders to reconsider how they inspire, engage, and influence in complex environments.
The development team shared how energized they were by the shift in participant feedback, noting that leaders consistently reported applying new approaches to workplace challenges within weeks of completing the program.
